Die Mehrzahl der Influenza A Infektionen beim Menschen wird durch die Subtypen H1N1 und H3N2 hervorgerufen. Weltweit erkranken 3 &#8211; 5 Millionen Menschen j\u00e4hrlich an Influenza und ca. 250.000 \u2013 500.000 sterben an der Erkrankung.<\/p>\n<h3>Eigenschaften von Influenzaviren<\/h3>\n<p>Charakteristisch f\u00fcr Influenzaviren ist ihre mutationsbedingte hohe Variabilit\u00e4t (Antigendrift) der H\u00fcllenantigene H\u00e4magglutinin (HA) und Neuramidase (NA). Dies kann zu neuen Varianten der unterschiedlichen Subtypen f\u00fchren. Neben dem mutationsbedingten Antigendrift k\u00f6nnen durch Durchmischung eines humanen und nichthumanen Influenza A Stamms neue Influenza A Subtypen (Antigenshift) entstehen, die eine Pandemie ausl\u00f6sen k\u00f6nnen. So steht z.B. der Influenza A-Subtyp H1N1 im Zusammenhang mit vergangenen und potentiellen neuen Grippe-Pandemien (z.B.
